ISLAMABAD: An accountability court here in Islamabad granted three days exemption to former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif in al-Azizia reference.
At the outset of the hearing, Nawaz’s lawyer Khawaja Haris said that his client needed sometime for adjustment after his release from jail.
He informed the court that his client was also mourning the demise of wife Kulsoom Nawaz and requested the court to grant Nawaz Sharif five-day exemption from personal appearance in the case.
Meanwhile, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor said that the law allowed exemption in rare conditions.
After hearing the arguments, Judge Arshad Malik remarked, “For now, we grant Nawaz Sharif a three-day exemption from personal appearance in the case.
