Nine terrorists killed, six soldiers martyred in North Waziristan clash

MIRANSHAH: At least nine terrorists were killed while seven army personnel including an officer embraced martyrdom in a clash in Datakhel tehsil of North Waziristan district here on Saturday, ISPR said.
According to ISPR, Pak Army raided compound of terrorists on a secret tip off. During fire exchange, all nine terrorists were killed whereas seven army personnel embraced martyrdom.
Sources said that terrorist attacked on the convoy of security forces in Ser Dag area of Datakhel with sophisticated weapons leaving six soldiers including two officers dead while three others injured. Security forces repulsed the attack and killed nine terrorists, official sources claimed.
Security personnel cordoned off the area and started search operations. The slain soldiers include captain Junaid, subedar Khurshid, naib subedar Arshad,havaldar Amir Wali and the names of two others could not be identified.
Meanwhile security forces foiled a terror bid and killed two terrorists including a key commander of banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and a suicide bomber in Tehsil Mamund in Bajaur tribal district on Saturday.
Security Officials said that security personnel raided a house in Agra area of Tehsil Mamund where they killed a would-be suicide bomber and deputy head of TTP Bajaur chapter Ismaeel alias Umar. Security forces suffered no casualties during the operation.
Sources said that commander Ismaeel was involved in a number of terror attacks and extortions.
