MIRANSHAH: Two militants and one other person were killed in firing incidents in North Waziristan tribal district on Friday. Sources said a security personnel was injured when militants opened fire on the security forces during a search operation in Manzarkhel area of Dattakhel tehsil. The injured security personnel was identified as Wasim Ashraf. The security forces retaliated and killed two militants.
The security forces cordoned off the entire area after the incident and launched a search operation. However, no details were available about any arrest in the search operation.
In a separate incident, unknown miscreants opened fire on a moving vehicle in Eidak village of Mir Ali tehsil due to which one person was killed. The local police said the incident was the outcome of old enmity. Police arrived at the scene and initiated investigation.
