BANNU: Score of shopkeepers of Zafar Town of Miranshah sub-division of North Waziristan Agency on Friday continued protest sit-in for the third consecutive day in front of Bannu press club against non-payment of compensation.
The protesting shopkeepers alleged that the administration had not taken them into confidence before reconstruction of markets destroyed during operation Zarb-e-Azb. They demanded payment of compensation and procession of land to the owners whose houses were replaced with markets.
The protesters demanded payment of compensation of 600 houses and merchandises destroyed during Zarb-e-Azb military offensive. They also demanded arrangements for their accommodation before IDPs repatriation.
