LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif Wednesday said that he was returning to Pakistan on ‘give respect to vote’ mission.
Addressing party at a news conference, the former premier said that he wished to see his wife opening her eyes again, requesting the nation to pray for her recovery. He said that he was returning “despite seeing a prison cell in front of him.”
“I am returning to fulfil the promise of giving respect to vote,” Nawaz said, adding that he would not abandon his nation.
He said that he would not stop now whether he is imprisoned or taken to gallows.
“I respect all institutions and believe in the role of law, always gave priority to the needs of our armed forces, decided to make Pakistani atomic power against threats of the whole world, I salute Pakistani soldiers who sacrifices their lives for us, for our tomorrow,” he said.
Referring to undemocratic forces interference in election process, the former prime minister asked that who were changing loyalties and forming independent group of jeep. He said that now there is a state above state in Pakistan.
He said that the era of puppets was over, adding that those who were doing selection in the name of election were causing damage to Pakistan and violating their oath. He said these forces were playing a cruel joke with the people of Pakistan by imposing some people on them through rigging.
“Nothing can stop me, no amount of cruelty, injustice and revenge can stop me from my mission and those who thoughts that I will run away were mistaken. Its the elected representatives of people who should make decisions and decide their fate,” Nawaz Sharif
“Why is it that the world does not trust us and accept our narrative,” he asked. “We have been put in the FATF grey list, he said, adding that when he pointed out these issues and wanted a different course of issue, the Dawn Leaks was created to hound his government.– Agencies
