Number of coronavirus patients rises to 2037 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 2,037 early Wednesday after new infections were confirmed in the country.
According to details, the number of confirmed coronavirus-infected people in the country rose to 2037. So far, 58 patients have recovered.
679 patients have been tested positive for the epidemic in Sindh, 158 in Balochistan, 708 in Punjab, 253 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 178 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 58 in Islamabad and six in Azad Kashmir.
Globally, more than 37,000 deaths from the virus have been recorded so far, of which most have been in Europe since the disease first emerged in December.
Meanwhile, more than 785,000 COVID-19 cases of the virus have been registered in 200 countries and territories.
The Punjab government on Wednesday said that a 1,000-bed hospital had been set up at the Expo Centre in Lahore to tackle the coronavirus outbreak. The hospital was setup in nine days, the provincial administration said in a post on Twitter.
“This hospital will cater exclusively to coronavirus patients. Chief Minister Punjab Usman Budar will visit the hospital today,” the post read.
