Govt slashes petrol price to Rs 74.52 per liter

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent a summary to Finance Ministry recommending an increase in prices of petroleum products.
According to the summary, the OGRA has recommended an increase in the prices of petrol and high speed diesel by more than Rs 2.45 and Rs 2.70 per litre respectively.
Hike of Rs. 3.25 in the price of kerosene oil and Rs. 3.40 in the price of light diesel has also been recommended.
The Ministry of Finance is likely to announce final price on July 31, which will be effective from midnight; however, reports making rounds that the caretaker government will let the new government decide the matter.
