Outgoing DG ISI briefs PM over security issues


ISLAMABAD: Outgoing Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt. General Rizwan Akhtar on Thursday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad and briefed him on matters relating to national security.
Officials said issues of national security and professional matters of the army were discussed in the meeting.
The PM appreciated Lt. General Rizwan Akhtar’s services for the military and ISI, officials said.
The ex-ISI chief Lt. General Rizwan Akhtar has now been posted as President National Defence University (NDU) after Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar was appointed as DG ISI.
