Owner of spurious medicine company arrested on SC’s orders

Changing rules regarding ECP appointments challenged in SC

ISLAMABD: Owner of a pharmaceutical company named as Usman was arrested on the orders of Supreme Court (SC) from the courtroom on Tuesday for manufacturing spurious medicines.
During hearing of the case, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar directed the Drug Regulatory Authority to seal the company of Usman and present report in this connection.
He also ordered for the proper inspection of the factory.
Meanwhile, the court issued suspension notification of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bahawalpur for protecting the company’s owner, asking who was backing this dangerous move.
He also ordered Punjab Inspector general to launch inquiry of his DIG and submit report.
