LAHORE: Punjab Governor Malik Rafique Rajwana on Tuesday said that sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Army for the protection of geographical boundaries of the country were a luminous part of history.
Speaking to a 11-member delegation of Allied Army School of Logistic headed by Lt Col Muhammad Farhan at Governor’s House, he said the nation was proud of brave soldiers of Pakistan army who always played an exemplary role in safeguarding the country’s geographical boundaries and carrying out relief activities in devastation floods and other natural disasters.
The governor said the whole nation stands shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan army in war against terrorism, adding "We will not rest until the elimination of terrorism from the country".
He said that peace in this region could also help bring prosperity in the world, adding that Pakistan believed in developing friendly relations with the neighbour countries on equality basis.
The PML-N government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was making all-out efforts to facilitate the people and stabilize the economy to put the country on road to progress and prosperity, the Governor said and added that comprehensive economic policies of the government were yielding positive results.
He maintained electricity crisis was the biggest issue in the country which would also be resolved by the end of year 2017 as the government had initiated a number of mega power projects.
He said that success of the PML-N in the elections of Cantonment Board, Gilgit-Baltistan and Mandi Bahauddin was a proof that people of the country not only fully trust the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and policies of PML-N government but also rejected the politics of anarchy.
He said that it was very satisfactory that the PML-N government had resolved important national issues with the consultation of all political parties in a short span of time. (APP)
