ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office on Friday summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in Padhar Sector yesterday, resulting in the martyrdom of two innocent civilians and injuries to two others.
According to FO spokesperson, Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh was summoned to the foreign office by Director General (DG) South Asia and lodged Pakistan’s protest against LOC and Working Boundary violations by India forces.
Director General South Asia Dr Muhammad Faisal urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 Ceasefire arrangement, investigate this and other incidents of ceasefire violations, instruct the Indian forces to respect the ceasefire, in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.
India was also pressed to permit UNMOGIP to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.
