PPP will not compromise on democracy, media freedom: Bilawal

ISLAMABAD: Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that Pakistan is moving towards authoritarianism.
He was addressing joint parliamentary party meeting of the opposition parties here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by PML- N president Shahbaz Sharif and others.
According to Farhatullah Babar, the PPP chairman told opposition MPs that the issue was neither Panama leaks nor benami accounts but it was systemic transition to authoritarianism. He called for parliamentary activism to stop the slide towards authoritarianism.
He said that who should take decisions, the parliament or other institutions. He said that if the opposition did not opt for protest now, then there would not other chance.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the opposition were united in the interests of the people and Pakistan. He said that the opposition was united against anti-people budget.
