Pak-Afghan Torkham, Chaman borders reopened for pedestrians

PESHAWAR: The government on Saturday reopened the Torkham border crossings to Afghanistan for pedestrian traffic to facilitate the return of Pakistanis stranded in Afghanistan.
According to the district Khyber’s administration, reopening of the border will allow Pakistanis stranded in Afghanistan to return home. The border will also be open for people who want to travel to Afghanistan from Pakistan.
According to the federal government, the Torkham border will remain open five days a week for transit and one day for pedestrian traffic.
Earlier, the government closed the border with Afghanistan to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country.
