Pakistan urges world community to take notice of Indian provocations

ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has urged the world community to take notice of Indian provocations against Pakistan as any escalation of tension between the two nuclear armed neighbors could prove catastrophic for the whole region.
In an interview, he said over the last several months, India is heating up situation at the LOC and the working boundary due to some internal compulsions.
He said Pakistan is using diplomatic and international forums to highlight the Indian belligerence.
The Defense Minister expressed concerns over the use of heavy weaponry by the Indian troops in the recent LOC firing. He said it is regrettable that extremist elements have come to power in India which could become a source of destruction not only for their own country but for the whole region.
He said the regional countries should be wary of the extremist tendencies of India.
