Zainab murder case: Committee terms Shahid Masood's allegations baseless

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday has delayed decision of constituting judicial commission after PTI decision to boycott a commission to probe the Panamagate scam, if it is formed by the court. Subsequently, the apex court postponed proceedings of the Panama Leaks case till the first week of January 2017.
The decision was taken after a very short session of the court in which Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) counsel Naeem Bokhari announced the party decision to boycott a commission to probe the Panamagate scam, if it is formed by the court. During hearing, PTI’s attorney Naemm Bukhari has told the apex court that his client wanted the existing top court bench heard the Panama Leaks. “We have made our case, the court should give its verdict on it,” said Naeem Bukhari. “If we are not able to make a good case, then the decision should be given according to law,” he added. He further stated that the decision of the judiciary would be a historic one.

Sharif family’s counsel Salman Aslam Butt observed they will accept whatever the courts decides regarding forming a commission.

“I am retiring on Dec 30 and after that will not be a part of any bench following the full court reference,” he observed.
The Chief Justice added that if he cleared all the documents then other party would object that they were not given a chance to defend.
