PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Areas Monday received rains and snowfall with the temperature plunging to minus 3 degree Celsius in Parachinar area of Kurram Agency.
The Met Office said one to two inches snowfall was reported from Parachinar, Chitral and Malam Jabba where minimum temperate was recorded as -3C, -2 and -1C respectively.It said rains had been reported in hilly and plain areas of KP and FATA. The weather remained cold and cloudy in most parts of the province during the last 24 hours, with rains reported from Hazara, Malakand and DIKhan divisions.
The lowest temperature was recorded in Parachinar, where the mercury dropped to minus 3 degree Celsius, followed by Chitral and Malamjaba with the minimum temperature of minus 2 and minus 1 degree Celsius respectively.The minimum temperature in other cities of the KP was: Peshawar 4, Dir and Kalam 0, Malamjaba -1, DIKhan 12, Bannu 09, Risalpur 4, Balakot 3 and Kohat 7.The Met Office forecast mainly cold and partly cloudy weather in most parts of the region. However rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds and snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Chitral, Malakand, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Battagram, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Torghar, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Karak and Hangu districts and Kurram, Khyber, Orakzai, Bajaur and Mohmand agencies in FATA while at isolated places in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, DI Khan and Tank districts and North and South Waziristan agencies in FATA.
