LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday provisionally suspended Karachi Kings’ opener Shahzaib Hasan in spot-fixing case.
The corruption scandal is far from over as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) anti-corruption unit (ACU) is not satisfied with Shahzaib Hasan’s statement and issued Notice of Charge to the aggressive batsman.
The accused has been given a 14-day time to submit reply.
Shahzaib Hasan recorded his statement in front of PCB ACU on Wednesday in which he revealed that his family was being threatened by the bookies that was why he failed to report ACU earlier.
However, ACU was not satisfied with the statement of Shahzaib and had decided to take action against him as well.
Shahzaib Hasan was not immediately suspended from PSL 2017 because he had informed ACU about the offer that was given to him by the bookie just before the match.
It is pertinent here to mention that Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Irfan have already been conditionally suspended from all formats of the game due to alleged spot-fixing in second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), and Umar Amin and Zulfiqar Babar might be summoned by PCB soon as their names are also revolving in the fixing scandal.
