ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has decided that the allied parties will not contest by-elections on 35 national Assembly seats, recently vacated after acceptance of the PTI’s MNAs resignation by speaker of the National Assembly.
The PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the PDM will not participate in by-elections on 35 vacant seats of the National Assembly. He said that they would soon announce the reasons of not contesting by-elections.
Earlier, the speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf accepted the resignations of 35 more MNAs of the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI). Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has also de-notified the PTI’s members of the National Assembly.
The speaker National Assembly had forwarded the resignations of the PTI’s MNAs to Election Commission of Pakistan for declaring their seats as vacant.
The Election Commission has denotified Pervez Khattak, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Asad Qaiser, Qasim Suri, Imran Khattak, Murad Saeed, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Umar Ayub, Shehryar Afridi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Sadaqat Ali Khan, Mansoor Hayat Khan, Noorul Haq Qadri, Attaullah, Raja Khuram Nawaz, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, Fawad Ahmad, Alia Hamza, Hamad Azhar, Shafqat Mehmood, Faheem Khan, Zartaj Gul, Ali Nawaz Awan, Ghulam Sarwar, Sanaullah Masti Khel, Saifur Rehman, Najeeb Haroon, Kanwal Shauzab, Alamgir Khan and Ali Zaidi as members of the National Assembly.
