Peace deal between Afghan Taliban and US expected soon: Zaeef

KABUL: Afghan Taliban leader Abdul Salam Zaeef on Friday said the matters between US and Afghan Taliban have been agreed upon regarding Afghan peace deal and that the agreement is expected to be signed in coming few days.
His statement followed the the ninth round of the negotiations that began in Doha, Qatar on Thursday.
Zaeef, who served as Taliban’s ambassador for Pakistan when the group ruled the country in the late 1990s, said Pakistan, China and Russia will play as guarantors.
He said the stake holders have agreed upon complete withdrawal of US and allied troops from Afghanistan in 15 to 24 months.
Meanwhile, talking to TOLOnews, Afghan Taliban leader the deputy leader of the group, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar will sign the peace agreement with the US.
He said the US negotiators want to mention in the agreement that the Taliban will not have any relations with terrorist groups after the peace agreement. …Agencies
