ISLAMABAD: A petition was filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan seeking to declare Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as ‘ineligible’ after claims of Panama Papers.
The petitioner has appealed the court to form a high-level judicial commission on offshore assets of Sharif family and suspend remove him from the office till the investigation completes.
“The PM is no more a Sadiq and Ameen; therefore, the Supreme Court should issue orders to declare him ineligible and direct him to file actual details of assets,” the petitioner said.
Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court (LHC) issued notices to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his five family members in a case pertaining to their offshore assets.
The Sharif family has been ordered to file response by April 18.
