PHC stays execution of military court’s convict

PESHAWAR: A Peshawar High Court bench on Thursday stayed execution of a person and suspended the sentence of death awarded to him by a military court.
Chief Justice Peshawar High court Waqar Ahme Seth suspended the death sentence of the accused Arish, who was convicted by a military court for his alleged involvement in the killing of Amjid Sabri.
The counsel for the convict, Azizuddin Kakakhel told the court that his client was deprived of right to defence. He said that his client was sentenced to death without any witness and evidence.
The court suspended the death sentence of the convict and adjourned the hearing till September 9.
