PHC suspends death sentence handed to ‘terrorist’ by military court

PHC stops private schools from charging summer vacation fee

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) Tuesday stayed the execution of a terror convict by suspending the death sentence awarded by a military court.
A two-member bench of the high court, comprising Justice Qaland Ali Khan and Justice Muhammad Ayub heard the petition of convict Rawas Khan.
Counsel for convict Gohar Rehman Khattak informed the court that Rawas Khan was missing since 2016, who was traced at Kohat Internment Centre. He argued that sentencing him to death by a military court was illegal as there was no evidence against the convict.
The court suspended the military court decision and stayed the execution of the convict. The court also accepted the petition for hearing.
