PM expresses anger on IGP over entry of bomber into Police Lines

PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Monday expressed anger over entry of suicide bomber into Peshawar Police Lines mosque and asked IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that how the bomber reached the Police Lines as death toll reaches 44.
The prime minister was chairing a meeting in Peshawar after suicide blast at Peshawar police Lines during his visit to the City. Army chief Gen Asim Munir, defence minister Khwaja Asif, interior minister Rana Sannaullah and other officials were present in the meeting.
The prime minister asked the IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that how the suicide bomber reached the mosque in Police Lines as there was only one entry gate of the Police Lines. The IGP said that there were family quarters in the Police Lines. “I don’t know from where the bomber came and how he entered”, he said. He might be present inside before the blast, he said, adding that investigations were going on that how the incident occurred and how the bomber entered into police lines. The IGP presented initial investigation report in the meeting. The prime minister was also shown the The CCTV footage of the police lines.
Meanwhile, according to a statement issued from PM Office, corps commander Peshawar briefed the prime minister about causes of the terrorism.
The prime minister said that terrorists were trying to create panic and fear among the defence institutions of Pakistan. However, with the support of the public, the state will foil the designs of the terrorists. Pakistan has offered great sacrifices in war against terrorism, he said and added, “we will not let go the sacrifices of our martyrs in waste. “ He said that the police capability would be strengthen. “We will ensure implementation of the National Action Plan with full force”.
Earlier, the prime minister visited the LRH hospital, where he inquired after the health of the injured of the blast. At least 44 people have been martyred and 147 injured in the blast.
Meanwhile, the prime minister, federal ministers, caretaker chief minister and army chief also attended the funeral prayer of the martyred policemen,
