PM Imran Khan visits Turbat (Balochistan) for the first time, announces 360 scholarships for students

PM launches Rehmatul-Lil Alameen scholarship program in Islamabad

TURBAT: Prime Minister Imran Khan in his first-ever visit to the city in southern Balochistan on Friday announced that the number of scholarships to students would be doubled, Khyber News reported. Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of various development projects in Turbat, PM Imran Khan underlined that the city had a history and that its people were “the future of Pakistan”.

In an address at the University of Turbat on Friday, he encouraged students to pursue their dreams irrespective of the challenges they may face. The prime minister remarked that the government has planned to increase the budget for education in Balochistan.

The premier underscored that “Balochistan never received as much funding as our government [provided to the province]” and that it lagged behind due to a lack of funding in the past.
