ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Friday said that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is answerable to the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Panama Papers case.
While addressing a news conference, Chaudhry Nisar said that no individual is above the law and constitution of Pakistan adding that PM Nawaz has willfully presented himself for accountability.
Chaudhry Nisar said that his ministry is contact with the management of social media sites to get information related to the release of a fake picture. A picture showing President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra is being shared on social media.
Some social media users mistakenly or deliberately wrote the caption as CJP-designate Justice Saqib Nisar is sitting with Nawaz and Mamnoon.
“We are in contact with Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and other social media sites to expose the elements and their hidden motives for launching a negative campaign to damage credibility of the state institutions,” he said while addressing a press conference.
To a query, Ch Nisar said he will move Supreme Court to defend himself on the Quetta Commission report. “Former Attorney General Makhdoom Ali Khan will be my lawyer,” he added.
To another query about General (retd) Pervez Musharraf’s recent claim, he said that his ministry put the name of former president in the Exit Control List for two and half years.
He said that trial court, high court and then Supreme Court allowed Musharraf to travel abroad.
