ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday said Kashmir turned into a flashpoint following Burhan Wani was martyred by Indian security forces in the Occupied Kashmir.
In his welcome address to the participants of meeting of parliamentary leaders at Prime Minister Secretariat, he called upon United Nations to play a due role in resolution of Kashmir dispute.
The PM Sharif said it is a welcome sign that the entire nation is united over the issue of Kashmir and expressed hope that all the leaders will table significant proposals and recommendations in this connection. “We will forge ahead for the sake of defence of our homeland,” he added.
Earlier, advisor on national security Nasser Khan Janjua presented an exhaustive report on LoC situation saying India violated the control line thrice within the three days.
Earlier, flanked by other party leaders, PM Sharif received the participants of the meeting at PM Secretariat.
It is pertinent to note here that leaders of all parliamentary parties in the National Assembly, except Sheikh Rashid of Awami Muslim League, have been invited to attend this vital meeting.
Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is heading a delegation of his party and Shah Mehmood Qureshi is leading the PTI men.
It should be mentioned here that Shah Mehmood Qureshi from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Ghulam Ahmad Bilour of Awami National Party (ANP), Farooq Sattar and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-Pakistan), Siraj-ul-Haq and Sahibzada Tariq Ullah of Jamaat-e-Islami, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Khursheed Shah, Naveed Qamar and Sherry Rehman of Pakistan People’s Party, Kamil Ali Agha of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and other leaders will attend today’s meeting.
