PML-N formally announces Shahbaz Sharif as its permanent president

Shehbaz Sharif considers contesting elections from 3 constituencies in Karachi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has elected Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif as its permanent President unopposed.
The official announcement to this effect was made in a session of Central General Council of PML-N here in Islamabad.
The ousted prime minister and former president PML-N, Nawaz Sharif congratulated Shahbaz Sharif on becoming president of the party.
Earlier, PML-N nominated Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif as its permanent President during a meeting in the federal capital.
According to details, nomination papers of Shahbaz Sharif as President PML-N had been submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
No other candidate had submitted his papers in ECP.
An official of ECP has confirmed that except Shahbaz Sharif, no has so far submitted his nomination papers.
He added that a final list would be issued after scrutiny of the papers submitted by Shahbaz Sharif.
