PML-N leaders meet Nawaz, Maryam at Adiala jail

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and Sharf family members Friday met with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz at Adiala Jail.
Due to Eid holidays, no one was allowed to meet Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz on Thursday.
Abdul Qadir Baloch, Musaddiq Malik, Abbas Sharif, Haris Butt’s family, Pervaiz Rasheed, Daniyal Aziz, Khawaja Asif, Senator Tanvir Chauhdry, Maryam Aurangzeb, Maryam’s daughter and son-in-law met the former premier.
Talking to newsmen outside the jail, the former foreign minister Khawaja Asif said that they were not allowed to meet the former prime minister during last two days. Therefore, he added, he came to jail today to meet Nawaz Sharif. He refused to talk about politics.
Pervez Rashid told media that the PML-N could consider the name of Aitzaz Ahsan for the post of president of Pakistan if he visits Nawaz Sharif in jail and apologize to him for his comments. However, he added, the PML-N was consulting its allied parties regarding presidential election.
