LAHORE: The Lahore police have freed leaders and workers of Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) after keeping them in custody for several hours.
According to details, the police had arrested a number of PTM leaders and workers including Ali Wazir, Bilal Mandukhel, Muzammal Khan and Asmat Shah Jahan.
Reacting to the arrest of party workers and leaders, PTM Chief Manzoor Pashteen has announced to cancel talks with senators and members of national assembly hailing from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
In a statement, Pashteen said that they were peaceful people and wanted peace.
He added that they would hold public rally at Mochi Gate in Lahore today at all costs.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations has rejected the reports saying that the PTM leaders were summoned for coordination regarding their rally.
He maintained that District Intelligence Committee had not allowed PTM to hold rally at Mochi Gate.
