Polling for one vacant seat of Senate from Balochistan underway

QUETTA: Polling for one vacant seat of Senate from Balochistan is underway at the Provincial Assembly’s building in Quetta on Monday.
Five candidates are in race for the seat, which had fallen vacant due to sudden death of Senator, late Sardar Azam Khan Mussa Khel last month.
The polling would continue till 4:00Pm.
According to reports, tough contest is expected between the candidates of BAP, BNP-M and PkMAP.
According to reports, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) candidate Manzoor Khan Kakar and Balochistan National Party Mengal’s (BNP-M) Ghulam Nabi Marri are the front runners in a Senate by-election.
PkMAP’s Sardar Muhammad Haneef Musakhel is also in the run.
The ruling BAP’s candidate enjoys the support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Moreover, the BNP-M candidate has been backed by the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).
