ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is all set to mark its 50th anniversary by holding a public rally at the Parade Ground here in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
All the arrangements for the gathering have been completed with the venue decorated with party’s flag, banners and poster of the party leaders.
At least 160-foot long, 40-foot wide and 30-foot high stage has been set up at the venue to accommodate the party leaders while thousands of chairs have been placed in the Parade Ground for the workers.
Folk singers Arif Lohar, Tufail Sanjrani and Faqir Shaukat Ali will entertain the workers during the public rally.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is already present in the federal capital while co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also reached Islamabad to attend the golden jubilee of the party.
Prominent PPP leaders, including opposition leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah, Senator Sherry Rehman, Nayyar Bukhari, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah also reached Islamabad and visited the venue to monitor the preparations for the public meeting.
PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will deliver the concluding speech at the public meeting between 6:00 to 7:00pm.
A large number of PPP workers from across the country are expected to attend the gathering.
