MULTAN: Former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza has said Pakistan People’s Party ( PPP) favoured transfer of
power through democratic process after incumbent government completion of tenure.
Addressing a press conference along with PPP South Punjab President Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood and other party officer-bearers on Thursday, Gilani said the next general electiopn should be held according to the schedule.
He said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would refresh his maternal grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s memories in Multan public gathering on December 15.
He will announce party’s manifesto for 2018 general elections in Multan, PPP senior leader said and added that it would be a historical procession.
Welcoming MQM-PSP political alliance, Gilani said that the PPP had been contacting political parties in the past and it would compete them in future too.
He said his party had always respected judiciary, adding that the PPP leadership had been appearing before courts in the past.
He said that the PPP had turned 50 and it would celebrate its golden jubilee celebrations on December 5 in Islamabad.
Gilani said that PPP had the experience of running coalition governments successfully in the past.
A good number of party workers were also present on the occasion. …APP
