ISLAMABAD : Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the results of the second phase of the local government elections in Karachi and demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan to declared the LB polls results as null and void over alleged rigging.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the secretary general of the PTI Asad Umar also demanded resignation of members of the election commission over their failure to hold fair and transparent elections in Sindh.
Asad Umar said that the second phase of the LG polls should be declared null and void and asked the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold fresh elections in Sindh.
Asad Umar alleged that the rigging was started in morning of the polling day as video posted on social media showed election staff stamping ballot papers, adding that balloting materials were not sent to some polling stations on time. “We will not accept the results of this elections in any way,” he said, adding that LG polls were delayed several times as the PDM wanted to steal mandate. He maintained that a dangerous game was played in Karachi.
