Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the ongoing police and Rangers operation outside the Zaman Park to arrest former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
PTI lawyer Zaman Khan filed the petition.
Making the Punjab government, CCPO, IGP, Punjab and others respondents in the petition, the petitioner said that due to the teargassing of PTI leaders and workers, basic human rights of those living in the vicinity of Zaman Park were being infringed upon.
The petitioner argued that laws were breached while executing the arrest warrants issued for the PTI chairman. “Therefore, it is prayed to the court to order police to immediately stop shelling in the area,” the petition concluded.
