Imran tasks Qureshi with getting support from BNP-Mengal for premiership

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi Friday that his party was not consulted about the name of caretaker prime minister.
He was talking to newsmen at the parliament house here. “There is no consensus over the name of caretaker prime minister and no consultation has been done with the PTI,” he said.
Qureshi said that the government was not interested in implementation of FATA reforms, adding that if the government was interested in FATA reforms then it should work on the constitutional amendment in this regard.
“The PTI has always favoured the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and it wants elections including local body polls to be held in the area.”
Shah Mehmood feared that Pakistan might face sanctions from the United States on the basis of Nawaz’s controversial remarks on the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
He said that Pakistan Muslim League-N’s former president Nawaz Sharif’s political narrative was unsuccessful within and outside the party, adding that Nawaz’s narrative was more dangerous than his statement.
