PTI to move SC against ECP's decision to delay Punjab elections

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to move Supreme Court against Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)’s decision to postponed April 30 elections in Punjab.
Addressing a joint press conference here on Thursday, PTI leaders Asad Umar, Ijaz Chaudhry and Fawad Chaudhry said that the PTI would file writ petition against the ECP’s decision in the Supreme Court tomorrow .
Asad Umar said that the PTI had already filed contempt of court case against governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and another petition against ECP’s decision would be filed tomorrow. He said that the members of the ECP have violated the constitution. He said that the PTI senators would participate in the joint session of the parliament and stage strong protest against the ECP’s decision.
Fawad Chaudhry said that the ECP members have violated the constitution and they should be tried under article 6 of the constitution. He said that the PTI would hold grand public meeting at Minar-e-Pakistan, which would be a referendum against the imported government.
He said that all the bar associations have rejected the ECP’s decision, adding that the PTI would support the lawyers movement for supremacy of the constitution.
