I am being punished on someone’s behest: Nawaz

Nawaz says respect state institutions but verdict against him was not correct

ISLAMABAD: The disqualified prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday has alleged that he was being punished by courts on the behest of someone else.
Talking to journalists outside Judicial Complex, he said that it was already decided to punish him at any cost and added that his struggle for the elimination of dual standard would soon reach its logical conclusion.
He stated the judges used such harsh words in the verdict that were normally given by political opponents and added that punishment was not being given but rather it was forcefully implemented.
The former prime minister said that he had been trapped in Panama Leaks case in the same way he was sentenced in 1999 in plane hijacking case.
Earlier today, Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar appeared in accountability court in which witness of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) Sidra Mansoor and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Jahangir Ahmad recorded their statement.
