Saad Rafique denied protective bail in Paragon housing scheme scam

LAHORE: The Punjab Police has issued orders to arrest senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders including former minister for railways Khawaja Saad Rafique.
According to media reports, Punjab Inspector General of Police has written to Lahore deputy commissioner ordering the detention of seven PML-N leaders and 30-day house arrest of Haji Rana Bakhtiar.
The order stated that the PML-N leaders’ speeches and actions might disturb law and order in the city, the reports added.
Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered the release of PML-N workers who were detained by law enforcement agencies.
Hearing a petition filed by PML-N, Justice Anwarul Haq inquired from the provincial home secretary and police chief if they had a list of the detained individuals.
To this, the home secretary said that as many as 141 individuals had been arrested.
The court then ordered the home department to immediately present the list of detained individuals and noted that any actions that disturb the system should not be taken.
