ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani Thursday drew attention of Lord Fowler, Lord Speaker at the British House of Parliament to the blatant violation of human rights in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) that led to countless deaths and injuries to the innocent civilians.
During his meeting with Lord Speaker, the Chairman Senate highlighted the use of the pellet bullets by the Indian forces as a result of which hundreds of people including children have been inflicted with debilitating injuries such as loss of eyesight, said a message received here Thursday.
The Chairman also pointed out that the British soil should not be allowed to be used to incite violence in Pakistan.
The two sides discussed ways and means to enhance mutual cooperation between the Senate of Pakistan and the British House of Lords and to exchange Parliamentary information and procedures.
Rabbani emphasized the importance of Parliamentary diplomacy in building and strengthening relationship between the two countries.
He also underlined the importance of exchange of Parliamentary delegations. The Chairman extended the invitation to the Lord Speaker to visit Pakistan in near future, which was accepted by Lord Fowler.-APP
