Naqeeb Mehsud case: Statement of key witness missing from interim challan

ISLAMABAD: Suspended Malir SSP Rao Anwar, wanted in the Naqeebullah Mehsud killing case has appeared before Supreme Court (SC) today amid tight security.
Rao Anwar, who was in hiding and is currently facing trial in the extra-judicial encounter of Naqeebullah Mehsud, has reached the Supreme Court (SC) amid tight security.
On Monday, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) had reiterated that those facilitating Anwar, the suspended SSP in Karachi’s Malir district, and others accused in the Naqeebullah case would not be spared.
During that hearing, Justice Nisar said if Anwar appeared before the court, he would be provided security and be kept safe. The CJP also wondered who had provided Anwar help at the airport and stated that those helping him would not be spared by the court.
Inspector General of Police in Sindh AD Khawaja told the court that Anwar was provided with a boarding pass for a private airline.
