ISLAMABAD: Ex-Chairman of Evacuee Trust Property Board, Siddiq al-Farooq has filed a reference against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Saqib Nisar in the Supreme Judicial Council.
The petitioner has stated that swift action should be taken against the CJP for allegedly receiving bribes.
Siddiq al-Farooq in his petition added that a contractor of Capital Development Authority Shakir Ali alleged the CJP for demanding bribes.
The petitioner demanded for an inquiry into the allegations adding that people would lose trust on judiciary if investigations not initiated against Saqib Nisar.
He also accused the CJP of misconduct with respectable members of society and interference in constitutional rule of law.
