Amnesty International launches campaign against blackout in occupied Kashmir

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has issued fresh protest calendar from tomorrow till of February 28th.
The leaders in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that Resistance Day (Youme-e-Muzahamat) would be observed on Friday against the surge in killing of innocent youth by Indian troops.
Peaceful protests will be held throughout the valley after Friday prayers.
However; no strike will be observed on that day.
Earlier, Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested by a police party that raided his Maisuma residence in Srinagar on Wednesday. He was lodged at Kothi Bagh police station.
The occupation authorities also put Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Qazi Yasir, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Omar Aadil, Firdous Ahmad Shah and other Hurriyet leaders under house arrest or in custody.
