Resolution of Kashmir issue imperative for regional peace: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has termed resolution of Kashmir issue as imperative for durable peace in the region.
In an interview, he said without Kashmir any dialogue with India would have no value as Kashmir holds the key in Pak-India relations.
To a question, he said durable peace in Pakistan and Afghanistan can only be established by bilateral cooperation.
Khawaja Asif said Pakistan has granted permission to Afghanistan for trade through Wagha border but we cannot grant permission to India for trade under the existing circumstances.
He said Pakistan wants to have good relations with all the neighbouring countries for prosperity and development of the region.
The Minister said Pakistan has launched a number of development projects in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan has been supporting Afghan refugees for the last three decades. He was of the view that it is the time the Afghans should go back to their homeland. …APP
