KABUL: Two civilians were killed and 12 others sustained injuries after rockets fired by the Taliban landed in residential areas in Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan here on Sunday.
According to local officials, one rocket landed in Karokhil village of Sayed Abad District around 10:00 am which left 12 civilians wounded.
The target of the rocket was reportedly the nearby security check posts.
Three of the victims have been announced being in critical condition.
The second rocket hit a home in Yousufkhil village of the same district leaving two children killed.
Hayatullah Hayat the governor of Maidan Wardak province has strongly condemned the attacks.
