Sarfarz calls for international cricket in Pakistan

KARACHI: Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has said that now it is time that international cricket should resume in Pakistan as despite security concern international teams played Champions Trophy tournament in England.
He was speaking to media at the Karachi Press Club, where he was given life-time membership of the club. He said that Pakistan cricket was facing a detrimental loss because of no home cricket.
He said that the team will certainly miss Misbahul Haq and Younis Khan, adding that wae is aiming to bring consistency in the team.
He added that the cricket team has a good combination of senior and junior players – a cricket team always need senior players in the squad and the seniors must be in the team if they are performing well.
Ahmed said due to Pakistan Super League young players got much-needed exposure. “Shadab Khan and Fakhar Zaman have played domestic cricket but PSL gave them an identity,” he said.
He said that Pakistan cricket has a got a new life after winning the Champions Trophy as people now have raised their expectations for the team.
“We have to progress more. We have to win more series,” he said. “Things have become better in last two years. We have to now give more such good performances.”
