SC allows NAB to record statements of JIT members as witnesses against Sharifs

ISLAMABAD: The monitoring judge Justice Ijazul Ahsan has allowed the NAB to record statements of the Panamagate JIT members on Saturday.
According to reports, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had asked the JIT chief Wajid Zia for recording the statements of the JIT members. However, Wajid Zia had told the NAB that the JIT tenure has been expired, therefore, the NAB should contact the Supreme Court.
The NAB has submitted application with the monitoring judge of the references against Sharif family, Justice Ijazul Ahsan last week.
According to reports, the monitoring judge accepted the NAB’s application and allowed the NAB to record statements of the JIT members as prosecution witnesses.
