SC nullifies IHC’s verdict disqualifying Asif for lifetime

NAB summons Khawaja Asif on Dec 18 in assets case

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday nullified the verdict of Islamabad High Court (IHC) disqualifying ex-foreign minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif for life.
Earlier in the day, a three-member bench of the apex court reserved its verdict on the appeal of Khawaja Mohammad Asif against his lifetime disqualification.
The bench which heard the appeal was headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial and comprised Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif had filed a petition in the apex court challenging his April 27 disqualification by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
