ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nehal Hashmi to submit an unconditional apology in the court in a case pertaining to contempt of court.
The court had summoned representatives and leaders of bar associations to opine on the case, who condemned the anti-judiciary remarks of Nehal Hashmi.
They; however, pleaded that Hashmi be forgiven and informed that court that Hashmi’s licence to practice law has been cancelled for three months by the Sindh bar.
Upon this, the court ordered Nehal Hashmi to submit a written apology to the court and remarked that they would give verdict in light of the apology.
The Supreme Court has taken notice of Hashmi’s remarks for the second time after he made contemptuous remarks about judiciary following his release from jail where he served prison for contempt of court.
