SC to announce judgement on 'Population Control' case tomorrow

LAHORE: The Supreme Court (SC) Saturday directed the FIA to shift the Omni Group chairperson Anwar Majeed, his son Abdul Ghani Majeed and former Pakistan Stock Exchange chairman Hussain Lawai, who are being investigated in a money laundering case, to Islamabad.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar –led special bench of the apex court heard a case against fake bank accounts at the SC’s Lahore Registry.
Counsel for Majeed requested the court that that he should be investigated in Karachi, but the chief justice ordered that Anwar Majeed, Abdul Ghani Majeed should be shifted to PIMs and Hussain Lawai and Abdul Ghani Majeed should be shifted to Adiala jail till investigation.
The chief justice remarked that these people were influential and have power in Karachi, therefore they should be shifted to Islamabad for independent investigation.
