SC to announce judgement on 'Population Control' case tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) Monday rejected the reports of the federal and provincial governments regarding use of underground water.
When an apex court bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, the secretary law and justice commission informed the court that the provinces have not yet taken any steps to impose tax on companies for using underground water.
The chief justice expressed dissatisfaction over reports submitted by the provincial and federal governments and remarked that no action had been taken for imposing the tax on mineral water and beverage companies which are using underground water.
The court rejected the reports and directed the provincial and federal governments to submit reports about practical steps within two weeks.
